WIRE AUDIO ELECTRONICS REPAIR is an independent repair shop in Portland, Oregon operated by myself, Eric Hold - technician / musician. with 20 years of repair experience from field service, manufacturing service, engineering prototyping and custom building various gear for musicians and recording studios.

I provide service for guitar and bass amplifiers (tube and solid state), mixers, keyboards, effects, PAs, microphones, speaker cabinetes and so on.

Immediately after completing a 2-year "Electronics Technician" class at Lake Washington Techinical College in Kirkland, Washington (1989-1991), I started working in the music repair business...

I've worked for 4 professional audio manufacturers, 1 high-tech (silicon industry) manufacturer, two of the largest authorized service centers here in the Pacific Northwest and have now been running Wire Audio since 2003.

I have a Fender Gold level certification status which means Fender recognizes me as a qualified repair technician for their products--however, I am not an authorized service center (This means that I do not perform warranty work--all other work I can do). I have worked on just about all Fender amplifiers from the earliest, like the Champs, Deluxe, Twins, etc.--to some of the most recent, including The Cyber Twin, Blues Deville, Hotrod and so on.

Although I have been repairing music gear since 1991, I started my own business (Wire Audio) in the summer of 2003 out of necessity from a considerable amount of touring which would require be to quit working for others as expected.

I have been playing as a musician since I was 12 years of age. After attempting to fix guitar pedals and amplifers at an early age of 16, I realized that I was bound to end up working in the music business, one way or another and was already in an electronics repair course by the time I was 17 (just after graduating high school). Now, over 20 years later, I've honed my skill in music gear repair to a very diverse level.

As I've toured the United States many times, I understand that when it comes to repairs on music gear, there is a need for the job done right the first time... and at a fair price.
